The Future of Raıl Transportation Dıscussed in Istanbul

10th Internatıonal Raılway Industry Conference Successfully Held

Istanbul, December 11, 2025 – The 10th International Railway Industry Conference, one of the most significant international gatherings of the railway sector, was successfully held on December 11, 2025, at the Istanbul Marriott Hotel Pendik, organized by IMC Organization.

Bringing together public institutions, leading manufacturers, technology providers, and academic representatives, the conference served as a strong platform for discussing strategic topics shaping the future of rail transportation and fostering new collaborations across the sector.

Industry Agenda Addressed by Expert Speakers

During the conference sessions, key industry topics such as energy efficiency, liberalization in the railway sector, advanced driving techniques, urban rail system investments, alternative-fuel railway vehicles, deep technology applications, sustainable transportation, and logistics corridors were comprehensively discussed.

TCDD Taşımacılık Inc. addressed energy efficiency through the use of advanced driving techniques in railway operations, while Mr. Mustafa Erdem Kırmızıgül from the General Directorate of Railway Regulation of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye shared comprehensive insights into the current status of national and international transportation in the liberalized railway sector.

Mr. Uğur Coşkun highlighted global trends with his presentation on deep technology practices in rail system projects, supported by international case studies.

In the second session, Mr. Fatih Gültekin, Secretary General of TÜRSİD, provided evaluations on investment processes of urban rail system operators.

Dr. Murat Güler, Deputy Technical Chairman of TÜBİTAK RUTE, presented R&D activities related to alternative-fuel railway vehicles, while Mr. Özgür Akçam, Turkey General Manager of GSI SLV-TR, delivered a technical presentation on joining technologies and personnel qualification in railway vehicle manufacturing.

Emphasıs on Sustaınabılıty and Fınancıng

In the afternoon session, Mr. Ercan User, Domestic Market Manager of SARKUYSAN and Board Member of RAYDER, addressed current developments in rail system operations and emphasized the strategic role of the copper industry.

Mr. Yiğit Belin, General Manager of RedApple Co., drew attention to rail systems and sustainable transportation projects in Türkiye and the MENA region, highlighting an estimated project pipeline and financing potential of approximately EUR 64 billion in Türkiye.

Closıng Sessıon: Sustaınable Logıstıcs Corrıdors

The closing keynote was delivered by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tanyaş, Head of the Logistics Department at Maltepe University, under the title “Sustainable Logistics Corridors and Hubs.” Prof. Dr. Tanyaş emphasized the critical role of rail systems in logistics integration.
